We are proud to serve a diverse community of students, aged 11-16 years, on our two sites in South West Leicester. Fullhurst Community College opened in 1991 following the closure of King Richard III School and Newarke School. Initially located on the King Richard site while a significant refurbishment of the Newarke site took place, we moved into the Newarke buildings in 1992.
We were the first school in Leicester to be rebuilt under the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ Programme, but retaining our 1930’s red brick façade and clock tower at the rear of the new design. This iconic symbol of the school in the local community is the original entrance and helps to retain the character of the existing school. The school is a combination of high quality modern design and technology whilst preserving some of the architectural features of the old building.
Our £15million new Fosse Campus opened its doors in 2019 and has enabled us to expand our student population to 1500 from September 2020. Our Year 7 and 8 students begin their journey with us on Fosse Campus while the 9, 10 and 11 Year-groups are based at our Imperial Campus.
The priority of the college is to provide the highest quality education for every student in a supportive and inspiring environment. Students follow personalised pathways for learning which meet their individual needs. Our curriculum is broad and varied enabling each student to thrive.
*"The school has planned an ambitious curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils."
Our dedicated team of leaders, teachers and support staff enable our students to access the highest quality teaching and support.
*"All pupils have opportunities to achieve their aspirations."
We offer an extensive range of extra-curricular activities including sport, music, art and drama. We work in close partnership with local schools, sports and community organisations to ensure we provide the best learning opportunities for our students, as well as supporting the local community with initiatives such as our school allotment.
*"Dedicated staff at the school have worked hard to create an inclusive culture."
We strive to ensure all students leave Fullhurst Community College as successful, confident and responsible young people equipped with academic qualifications as well as the personal and social skills to enable them make a positive contribution to society.
*"Pupils are happy to attend Fullhurst Community College."
*"Pupils feel safe in the school. They know who they can talk to if they need help and trust staff to resolve issues quickly."
