Students enjoy interactive activities at Bosworth Battlefield
On Friday 10 June, 49 year 7 Humanities students visited the award-winning Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre in Nuneaton, which brings to life the Battle of Bosworth and this fascinating period of history.
Year 7 students learn about the Battle of 1485 where Richard III fought for his crown and lost his life, and Henry Tudor became king! Students got hands-on with the weapons wall, tried on armour, shot the interactive long bow and saw the gory practices of a barber surgeon. Students also took part in a guided walk of the Battlefield Trail and met a living history interpreter, learning more about the lives of soldiers and archers, armour, weapons and combat techniques through lively demonstration, object handling and activities.
