Teams of students create solutions to real problems
We were delighted to offer year 7 students the opportunity to participate in an exciting one-day energy conference on Friday 1 July. The students worked in teams to create solutions to real problems.
Here at Fullhurst we work closely with educational charity the EDT (Engineering Development Trust), to encourage our students to learn more about and consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) related industries.
The first challenge was to build a lighthouse from materials provided which didn't include any adhesive. One student was overheard saying, "This is really difficult but lots of fun!" The second task involved realisation of energy saving. The teams were asked to work out the optimum voltage to charge a battery at in order to power a vehicle exactly 6 metres.
