A visit from Liz Kendall MP
Leicester West MP, Liz Kendall, visited Fullhurst Community College on Friday 10 March and spent the morning talking to year 8 Geography students about issues around the ageing population in the UK as well as planting one of our 1000 trees.
We really appreciate Liz Kendall MP spending time with us at the college. The opportunity to discuss the topic of the ageing population, which the students had been studying in recent Geography lessons and had come up with a range of suggestions to help solve some of the issues, was such a valuable experience for our students who spoke so confidently. We are also grateful that Liz came armed with her wellies to plant one of 1000 trees which we had saved especially for her as she wasn't able to make our community planting day last month. The planting of the 1000 tress around the college grounds will help to enhance the visual appearance of the grounds, raising the number of trees within Braunstone and creating vital habitats and wildlife corridors within the area.
